Program
- Day 1 - Friday arrival & transfer
Upon arrival at Istanbul International Airport, you will be personally welcomed by a member of the Axolot Diving Expeditions team, ensuring a smooth and stress-free start to your deep wreck diving adventure in Turkey. From there, we embark on a 3.5-hour private transfer to the historic Gallipoli Peninsula, one of the world’s most renowned destinations for technical diving and deep wreck exploration.
Once in Gallipoli, you will be checked into the Kum Hotel, where you’ll have time to relax, refresh, and prepare your equipment before the start of your guided technical diving program.
This carefully planned arrival process allows you to recover from travel while immersing yourself in the unique atmosphere of Gallipoli wreck diving, setting the stage for an unforgettable deep diving expedition with Axolot Diving Expeditions.
- Day 2 - Saturday
After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to the dive center where the day begins with a thorough preparation phase. All technical diving equipment is carefully assembled, checked, and configured to ensure optimal performance and safety. Our team will double check with you in verifying that every CCR component, from regulators and gas mixes to deco bottles and dive computers are functioning exactly as it should.
Once all systems are confirmed, we head out for a relaxed check dive designed to fine-tune buoyancy, weighting and overall team coordination. This initial dive is conducted on a shallower wreck to ensure everything is perfectly dialed in before progressing to deeper explorations.
In most cases, the check dive will take place on the Captain Frangos, a well-preserved wreck resting at approximately 46 meters (150 feet) in the historic waters of the Dardanelles Strait. This vessel sank in 1968 following a collision with the Greek-flagged ship Dimos and now serves as an ideal introduction to wreck diving in Gallipoli. The dive offers a unique combination of history, structure, and manageable depth, perfect for confirming readiness for the more advanced deep wreck dives to come.

- Day 3 to 6 - Sunday to Wednesday
Over the course of the next four days, you will dive deep into history, exploring the breathtaking World War I shipwrecks of Gallipoli, one of the most unique and historically significant technical diving destinations in the world.
As a technical diver, each day is designed to deliver exceptional underwater experiences, combining deep wrecks, advanced decompression diving and exploration of remarkably preserved wartime vessels resting in the Dardanelles Strait. From dramatic structures to powerful historical context, every dive offers a new perspective beneath the surface.
This is more than just diving, it’s an immersive journey through time, tailored for divers seeking deep wreck diving and unforgettable technical expeditions.
- Day 7 - Thursday
After five full days of technical diving and deep wreck exploration, Thursday is dedicated to rest, recovery, drying the gear and discovery above the surface.
You may choose to unwind and recharge, or take the opportunity to explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Gallipoli Peninsula. Visit iconic World War I battlefields, memorials and museums that tell the powerful story behind the wrecks you’ve just explored underwater. Alternatively, embark on a trip to the legendary ancient city of Troy, a UNESCO World Heritage site steeped in myth and history.
For those seeking relaxation, the coastline offers the perfect setting to enjoy a scenic day by the sea. Whether you prefer cultural exploration or pure leisure, this day provides a well-earned balance to your intensive diving expedition.
